Dermot is the Chief Executive Officer of WWF-Australia. He has been a global leader in sustainable development for over two decades and has led global, regional and local initiatives using a unique combination of on-the-ground field projects, powerful advocacy campaigns and strategic partnerships with business, governments, local and Indigenous communities, and entrepreneurs. He has driven innovation thinking within WWF, especially on digital technologies, overseeing the establishment of WWF Panda Labs. He has raised $10 million in impact investing and led WWF’s first global joint venture with BCG Digital Ventures – OpenSC – a blockchain-enabled supply chain traceability platform. Prior to joining WWF-Australia, Dermot was CEO of WWF China and the Pacific.
Dermot is a board director of the Australian Council for International Development (ACFID), co-founder and chairman of OpenSC, member of the Advisory Council of the Luc Hoffmann Institute, on the management board of Places-You-Love: Australia and a member of the Australian Government’s National Peak Bodies Bushfire Recovery Forum and the Queensland Climate Advisory Committee. Dermot is a Fulbright Scholar, has an EMBA from the Institute for Management Development (IMD), Switzerland, a Master of Science from London School of Economics and degrees from the University of London and Southern Cross University.
