Isis Alvarez is a Colombian biologist who holds an MSc in Environment and Resource Management, and has over 15 years experience in the NGO sector globally. She currently works as a consultant for a local project on the restoration of a wetland ecosystem in Colombia, and closely collaborates with the ICCA Consortium.
Isis is a former Senior Gender Advisor and Unsustainable Livestock Campaign Coordinator at the Global Forest Coalition (GFC), where she actively participated in the United Nations’ Major Groups system as co-facilitator of the Women’s Major Group (WMG) at UNEP and the WMG-SDGs during the post-2015 process, as a member of the Women & Gender Constituency at the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC), and the Women’s Caucus at the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD).
